Feeling a bit like Winter

It's been much colder in the morning this last week and although I know Halloween is still a few days away I'm starting to feel a bit wintery. So I've started working on a few winter themed creations while finishing up a few spooky pieces. I'll still be creating the creepy stuff during the year but Christmas is starting to tug at me now.

Here's my newest pendant, "Winter Nap" Okay, I know it's not Christmas but it's snowy and it's got a polar bear and Santa loves polar bears and that's my story so I'm sticking with it! :)

You can find "Winter Nap" in my Etsy shop.

Owl and pie

Just finished my owl. I really like the rustic colors I used. I wrote a poem to go with him.
SOLD - Thank you Denise

"Ode to a friend"

Alas poor Jack
I knew him well
and as a friend
he was quite swell.

A thought he had
one fateful day,
"What fun it'd be
to roll and play".

He rolled around
was quite a thrill
but too close he came
to a slippery hill.

He rolled down fast
and hit his head
and now he's cracked
and very dead.

But all's not lost
please do not cry
for now he is
a yummy pie.

Pumpkin barrel bead pendant

I'm really happy with the way this pendant turned out. It's done in polymer clay and has antiqued copper wire bails. It's 2 1/2 inches from top bail to bottom pumpkin leaf. The whole thing, including the wires, is protected with a polycrylic varnish. Since the barrel is hollow it's actually very light and comfortable to wear.

These barrel beads are a challenge to make but I sure do like the results.

Blue Moon sculpture

I finally finished my "Blue Moon" sculpture. It's a little over 12" tall and it's the largest one I've done in polymer clay so far. The moon is polymer clay but the base is paperclay sculpted over a wood base I had laying around.

I painted the moon with my new airbrush. Well, it's not actually new new, my hubbahubby bought it for me about a year ago. I really didn't know how to use it but I finally pulled it off my shelf, mixed up my paints, plugged in the compressor and blew paint at watercolor paper until I felt comfortable using it. Wow, it was alot easier than I thought and I am now IN LOVE with my airbrush. All Hubbahubby had to say was, "It's about time." He was grinning a big grin so I know he was happy I finally used it.

My friend Sandy is going to love this. Sandy, I'm coming over to your house tomorrow to give you your sculpture and a big hug for all the help you've given us.
