BWAHAHAHAAAAA ... zombies

Eh hmm, sorry I just couldn't resist. I finally got my Zombie Head candy bowl finished and after 2 days of trying got some photos I'm happy with.



I did a bit of research to find a food safe coating that I could use in my bowls and after chatting with several artists (thank you, you know who you are) and a few varnish experts and checking the FDA's very long list of food safe products I learned something very interesting. Polyurethane is actually considered a food safe finish. It's okay to use on surfaces that come in contact with dry foods. So it's safe to use in my bowls as long as I use several coats (3) of it. I painted on 5 coats for good measure! I'm still suggesting my collectors use wrapped candies only and no sucking on candy then putting it back for later. That's just .........gross.

New Skelly Ornament

All decked out with his orange and black polka dot bow and his gold tooth. Now where's the party?

This was fun to make. It's paperclay over a styrofoam ball and is about 4" long from neck bone to top of hanger.

Last night was one of those wonderful, cool fall nights when you opened the windows a bit to feel and smell that fresh, crisp air.

Today I have a cold. Oh well .... lol. Since I'm not feeling so great I really don't feel like working on anything, besides, I think my muse got a cold as well. Poor thing, I really do put her through hell at times. I'm just going to post somes pics of some skull beads I made because
1. I want more stuff on my blog and
2. I don't have to work my plugged up brain very much to do it.

Skulls, I love making skulls

I sculpted this barrette in polymer clay. I'm really pleased with the way it turned out. Now I have to go hide it since my daughter has stated she's going to steal it ... lol
